Who am I in Christ?
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
The Bible teaches us that in Christ we are new creatures, a new species of being that did not exist before Christ came to earth and paid the price for our salvation. According to the Bible there had for ages and generations been a mystery hidden from men but was then revealed to us through Christ.
As believers, we know what we’ve been saved from, a life of sin and misery. But what have we been saved unto? Who have we become in Christ?
Christ in You
Colossians 1:26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:
Colossians 1:27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
The mystery that was hidden from ages and generations was that Christ would come and dwell in our hearts by faith, that God would send His Holy Spirit to live in the hearts of human beings. And that made believers in Christ to be a different type of man or woman than any who had previously lived, a man or woman with God Himself living inside them.
But who are we in Christ?
Who is this new creature? The answer to that can only be found in one place, and that’s in the word of God. God’s word is our revelation of who God is, and it gives us insight to who we are in Christ. So, let’s look at some of the verses that contain the phrase “in Christ” or “in him” or “in whom” or other variations of those phrases to get a glimpse of who we are in this new creature Christ has made us to be through the new birth.
Each verse is followed by a short affirmation or confession of the truth presented in the verse. Speaking the truth of the verse is helpful in conveying the impact of the word upon our heart.

Meditate in the Word of God
This is certainly not an exhaustive list of the verses that tell us who we are in Christ, but it’s a good start. The Bible says in John chapter 1 that Jesus is the Living word by whom all things were made. So, the entire written word reflects and reveals Him and gives us insight into who we are in Him. This is only a taste of what we can discover through pondering the eternal word of God.
